Description Suggest change

A heavy weight crag made from gorgeous, yellow limestone located right next door to The Donut Shop and across the valley from Bob's Buttress. This area, and the associated crags surrounding it, are relatively new additions to Spearfish Canyon and will not have a lot of information about them in any of the available guidebooks.

The Big Leblondski is an advanced intermediate level crag that boasts long, pumpy routes with monster roof pulls and a rug that ties the room together.

The Big Leblondski Wall is located just to the left of another really cool crag known as The Donut Shop. For information about this associated crag click on the link to the right mountainproject.com/v/the-d…

For those of you with a copy of Mike Cronin's "Spearfish Canyon, The VC and Other Black Hills Limestone" turn to page 104 for a small preview of what this part of Spearfish Canyon has to offer at Bob's Buttress mountainproject.com/v/bobs-…

Getting There Suggest change

A parking lot that allows climbers to access The Big Leblondski, The Donut Shop and Bob's Buttress can be found by following these directions.

Drive out of Spearfish and get on Highway 14A and drive up canyon towards Lead. Go past Blue Sky and drive about a mile past Mohican. Look for a gravel pullout on your right just before you get to a yellow Falling Rock sign. Check for house posts 21147 and 21143. Get out of your vehicle and walk towards the Falling Rock sign. Turn right at this sign and take a trail though the woods towards the creek. Cross a thick log bridge and walk past a rock carn towards the sign nailed to the tree that tells you to go right in order to get to Bob' Buttress. Turn left at this sign and start walking uphill. After what seems like a billion miles of walking, the trail terminates at The Big Leblondski a spectacular, blonde wall that you will defiantly want get on once you warm up at The Donut Shop which is located a few steps to the right of The Big Leblondski wall.
