Description

This is a large rock which is not easily seen from nearby areas. It faces northwest so likely will be shady early in the day. The rock is typical of that found in the Buffalo Creek area. This rock is in the newest guidebook, but it is not popular. You likely will not see other climbers here. There are four known routes here, but more could be established (especially with a drill).

Getting There

Park along FS-550 2 miles from CR-126. There is parking on the left at a campsite. The parking is at a right hand curve in the road. Head into the campsite and woods to the east. Head a bit right initially toward some aspen trees. You will pick up a old trail/road that is fairly overgrown. This trail crosses the Colorado Trail as you continue ahead, and you will come to a slight clearing with some large rocks straight ahead. These rocks are the Torture Chamber (not listed on this site). It takes about 10 minutes to get here. To the right is Almost Asshole up higher. Head right and you will eventually reach the rock.

It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the rock.
