Access Issue: Climbing is Prohibited Details

December of 2024 Mountain Project received information that climbing has been prohibited for the past 2 years. Violations result in $250 fine. They have mounted trail cameras tp catch violators.

Getting There

In between Gravel Boulder and the Goodnight Boulder on the side of the hill. Follow low key trail up the hill behind Gravel Boulder and head towards the road.

Dougout Boulder can be difficult to find and requires some off-trail traverse through brambles. Backside (Northern visage) is viewable from Gravel Boulder when looking South. However, the dug out area for climbing is hidden until you are right on top of it. Suggest using satellite view and photos for assistance.
