Description Suggest change

The discovery of the Sonoma Coast, Rancholabrean rubbing rocks has inspired a multi-displinary effort to better illuminate the natural and cultural histories that characterized the San Francisco Bay area at the end of the last Ice Age. Visitors to the area come to observe the polished rocks, once loved by Mammuthus columbi and Bison antiquus.

Commonly referred to as Mammoth rock, this one of two blueschist seastacks is the less-commonly climbed boulder of the area.
