Access Issue: PLACING BOLTS IS ILLEGAL IN THE SUPERSTITION WILDERNESS!
Details
In the early '90's the USFS banned all placement of bolts in the Superstition Wilderness. This unfortunately includes replacement of existing bolts. Violating this ban may result in climbing restrictions on this beautiful area. Please think twice and go bolt somewhere else.
Third and highest complex of the Northwest Pinnacles. Located south and above The Tower and The Hand.
Standard approach is to head southeast from the base of The Tower, up the hill past The Pickle. Circle south, then up gully southwest to saddle at main headwall. An alternative approach is possible from a northeast-facing gully near The Tower's base. Traverse a lichen ledge east and climb up a gully face past some unnecessary bolts. There are some boulder and ledge moves and a final steeper face (easy cl.5) before reaching the main headwall saddle.
