Description
Mount Geikie is the highest of the Ramparts. The normal route is the South-East Face (IV, 5.5, 1,500m). If you hike, then it is a long way to the back side of Geikie, where the normal route starts.
More than one climber, including author Sean Dougherty, has compared Mount Geikie's north face to either Mount Alberta's, Mount Kitchner's, or the North Twin's north faces (Selected Alpine Climbs in the Canadian Rockies, 1991). Dougherty also thought: "...certainly the most solid!" and that "The mountains around Geikie are bristling with unclimbed lines..."

Getting There
Mt Geikie is half in Jasper National Park (Alberta) and half in Mt Robson Provincial Park (British Columbia) You cannot fly in either park and must make the hike in.
Most of the Rampart's peaks are best approached via the well maintained Astoria River Trail, starting from the Edith Cavell Hostel. For Mount Geikie and Moat lake, some say it is shorter to use the Maccarib Pass Tonquin Valley Trail. That trail starts from the Marmot Basin Ski Area road. Both trails are open to horses. Packers are available in Jasper.
Probably the best trail will be the one with space for a camping permit.
