Description
This area receives little to sunlight until afternoon meaning the rock is cold in the winter mornings. Follow topos listed at 7aescueladescalada.files.wo…
Its all sport climbing. Not sure of rock type but during my one visit, I haven´t noticed options for trad gear. You will only need 6-7 draws for the Patacancha areas. In all three sectors of Las Quenas, climbs range from 5a to 7a (French system).

Getting There
These directions (except the link) are specifically for the Patacancha area (the other sections are on the way up the road). This area is approx. a 1 - 1.5 hr walk from cusco plaza de armas depending on which section you visit. I recommend a cab or personal vehicle. May be accessed via a dirt road that splits left from the paved road between the ticket gate and the Christo Blanco by Sacsayhuaman. Map and directions provided here: 7aescueladescalada.files.wo…
Never found the first two areas listed on pdf topos at 7a escuela site but for Patacancha area, the actual climbing is at the very top of the mountain toward the top of the 7a escuela map. In the square for Patacancha, there is a bulge in the center. The northern most (mapwise) section of that bulge contains the climbing routes. We crossed a farmer´s field from the road to get to the climbing area. Go to the northernmost bend in the road on the topos map and walk up the hill to your left. There will be one house (I believe it had the straw roof (you can see it on the google map). Walk up to the rock bulge and walk to the right of it until what you see matches 7a´s pix.
