Description
Garth is located just southeast of St. George and is great for winter climbing. It is populated by sandstone boulders at the base of a bluff that offers little protection from the sun. It's close proximity to the city and almost nonexistent approach makes this area a perfect place for an afternoon session. A majority of the problems were established by Hector Florez and his crew. While a lot of development has taken place in recent years, there are still many problems awaiting first ascents. Unlike Moe's Valley, a majority of the problems in the area are under V5, making Garth a hub for beginner boulders.
Getting There
Due to recent building access to Central Parking Area has changed. You can either park your vehicle at the end of one of the residential roads and then hike to your desired climb or drive up Banded hills to the Apex of Airport hill where there is a dirt parking space to your left. From there hike down the dirt path to your desired climb. You could also possibly drive onto the dirt road to the dirt lot but there are now construction workers there often which makes it harder.
