Description Suggest change

This is one of many "caves" near the Caves Branch river off the Hummingbird Highway. Pocketed face climbing leads up to a steep roof with tufa. Best of all, the climbs stay dry during rain and are always shady. Routes are all mostly 30m tall, although "OJ Simpson" on the far right of the cave proper might be 35m. Four climbs have been established thus far.

The area has been inhabited by Africanized bees in the past. A bee attack on a US climber here resulted in nearly 1,000 stings and a medical evacuation to Texas. Use caution at this and other climbing areas in Central America!

Getting There Suggest change

Approach and access from the Hummingbird Highway is tricky but possible. Contact local climbers for assistance.
