Description
Two nice boulders in a cluster of lowball granite. Located in a small alcove to the right of "big tit," it stays mostly shady but the cove can definitely keep the heat in. The area around the cove usually consists of teenagers a few hundred feet away jumping off the infamous rock, "big tit," but far enough away to not have to worry about or hear them. The rock is a very awesome 45 degree granite(?) beauty. Not rough whatsoever, almost too smooth, recommend a good amount of chalk. Just cleaned the top out and landing with the help of a few friends so we can establish some problems, so all should be good.
Getting There
From the Citrus Heights/Greenback area, follow Greenback Lane to the south side of Rainbow Bridge. At the second light, veer to the right then park in the lot to your immediate left (under Pizzeria Classico and Hacienda).
Cross Greenback Lane/Riley Street at the signal, and walk on the sidewalk back (northeast) towards Rainbow Bridge. Right before the pedestrian bridge you'll see a dirt trail to your right. Follow it, making sure to stick to the trails closest to the water (not on the water) as there are many trails that branch off to the right away from the river. Once you reach the back side of the rock "Big Tit," continue for 150 more feet then keep right, and you will see a 15 foot boulder with big ledges and chalk marks. If you walk to the right of that into the cove, you will see a 15 to 20 foot tall 45 degree slabby wall with chalk marks and positive ledges all over it.
Be sure to clean any trash along the trail.
