Description Suggest change

This popular hiking area is home to not only several caves, but also a few options for moderate climbs on the "chimney" at the peak. This feature is exposed, with decent rock quality and a great view. There is a variety of easily top-ropable, undocumented routes on the face just below the lookout.

There are a number of other crags in the King's Flow area as well (see the Adirondack Rock guidebook for details).

Getting There Suggest change

From the town of Indian Lake, take 30 south and turn left on Big Brook Road. Bear right when the road forks, and continue to follow signs to Chimney Mtn. When you reach a clearing with cabins and a $5 daily parking area, you'll see the trailhead kiosk at the end of the road. Take the uphill trail (not the Puffer Pond Trail), and follow the red trail markers (used to be blue, some blue discs and blue blazing remain) to the summit. Once you have reached the height of land, the chimney is readily apparent.
