Description
The highest point in the hills immediately above Santa Barbara, with spectacular views of the coast and the Santa Ynez Valley to the North. There is one main climbing area here - the Earthwatch Wall - a short but severely overhung cliff with about a half-dozen or so bolted sport routes from 5.10 to 5.13.
There is also a 25' high TR crag located at the SE corner of the transmission station - the true highpoint of La Cumbre Peak. The steep east face holds a 5.10 route (Jumping Jive), the south face has 5.easy slabs, and the north face is class 2-3. There is also plenty of potential for bouldering around the peak - nothing documented - grab your pad and explore.
