Getting There
From the intersection of Highways 159 and 160 travel west about 5.9 miles and hang a left (south) on to the dirt road, Cottonwood Valley Road. There is a dirt parking lot here with an outhouse. Travel south on this road about 0.9 miles from the highway. Turn right and follow this extremely rough dirt road for an additional 1.7 miles to the parking area. On this road, there is one intersection where you bear left toward the southern of two choices of gullies that come down from the summit.
The road can be in very bad shape at times. You may have to park somewhere along the road when it gets worse than you like. There are some pull-offs. From here you can hike to the Clear Light Cave and Buena Vista.
