Description
A massive shield overlooking the roofs of Streitberg. This is one of the best walls in the Frankenjura. It's also the birthplace of sport climbing in that it is the site of the Adolf Rott Ged.-Weg, which is the first route that Kurt Albert painted a Rotpunkt (Redpoint) on! The routes are tall and proud and the view and position astounding.
Getting There
Drive to Streitberg. Follow the signs to "Binghöhle" and after 500m turn right up the street "Am Streitberg". This leads you up to the Streitburger Ruins, which is also worth a look. After driving up this road for 150m, turn left into a parking area and park. Hike uphill for 50m to the little house and take the small trail to the right downhill. This leads straight to the base of the routes.
