Routes in Beyond Infinity Wall

Description

Another crag just east of Infinity wall on the right hand side of the cascade hosts a handful of nice ice flows in the 50 foot range. This cliff is south facing like the majority of Rumney crags, but it is sheltered by the trees, so it doesn't get an overwhelming amount of light. Most likely you will never see anyone here as this is still one of the rarely if ever visited areas of Rumney.

Getting There

Follow directions to Infinity Wall and look east to the right handside and you will see this lone crag standing just "beyond infinity".

Thats correct. It's a little better suited for the winter environment. Think along the lines of Jim Shimberg's Granny Slab over on 5.8 because a lot of the ledge resembles that section of rock. There is a nice verglas mixed route (just like Granny's) which would be fun to lead if a few bolts were added. I may add a few bolts this summer to protect some of free hanging icicles which form over on the right hand part of the ledge (for next year). Rumney ice season is about finished for this year I think. The ice has gas a rough go with all of these freeze thaw cycles, and its all punky and white. Feb 27, 2013
