Routes in Infinity Wall

Blue Buttress WI4+ M4

Description

Page still under construction.

With only a handful of developed rocks climbs, this area has a surprising number of quality ice and mixed routes. The view is also spectacular and faces an easterly direction towards the Rumney commons.

Getting There

This area is right of the Bakery and a little further up the hill.

Follow the guidelines given in Ward Smith's Rumney guidebook. To walk there from the base of the parking lot wall and the Bakery, you would have to pass through a few properties which may be ok with special permission.

Otherwise you can walk from the top of the Parking-Lot wall directly over and around Infinity Wall from the backside and thereby stay in the National Forest the whole time.

This area is a little different than your average Rumney "crag" and resembles more the areas around Kinsmen Notch warranting a little more adventure and mountaineering style ascents than most of the roadside climbs have to offer. It's great practice for more remote wilderness areas offering solice and pristine environment even though typographically it is not that far out of the way. Mar 12, 2013
