Distant memories when I chatted with Jim Detterline a number of years back...I think he told me about 3-4 little pitches he had done along this way. Feb 10, 2013

From Jim Detterline:

The only other ice route that I did in the Hwy 36 corridor was behind a Rev. ? house just northwest of Pinewood Springs. It was high up on the hill behind the Rev.'s house in a dihedral, and was short (60'?) and difficult (WI5?) - sorry but I didn't have time to do a thorough search of my journals tonight. The climb itself was on US Forest Service land, and to be considerate to the Rev. (who wasn't home anyway), I hike a long way around to get to the climb. This one was possibly a first ascent, as it rarely forms (I've only seen it twice during nearly 25 winter seasons here), a bit more difficult to see from the highway (though visible, it is a very brief look), difficult to approach with some confusion that it might be on private land (although it is not), and I was never able to find any person or written account that referenced the climbing of this.

....

I am not sure as to how to respond on the social network thing, but if you feel that my information may be valuable, you are certainly welcome to post it for me.

Thanks, Jim. I've watched for that line to come in since you mentioned it to me. I have been unrewarded. Feb 11, 2013
