Details
2022: South Face closures from May 15 - July 31.
Per Charlie Martz: raptor closures (peregrine falcons) are in effect in 2021: the South Face climbing area is impacted by these closures starting March 15th from The Great Corner (west side of S. Face) across the South Face to Sunrise. . . and includes the top of the rock (above the climbs, not the hike to the "summit") and the descent trail.
Per Citsalp: raptor closures (peregrine falcons) are in effect in 2019: the South Face climbing area is impacted by these closures May 15 - July 31 from Blackish Blobs (west side of S. Face) across the South Face to Sunday Morning. . . and these include the top of the rock (above the climbs, not the hike to the "summit") and the descent trail. Other climbing areas should remain open.

Description
The Parking Lot area is a small, initial zone of problems just a minute from the car. A small wall holds a handful of moderates, and another boulder holds a highball classic. Most climbers rightfully head on to the main areas. The lines are in the open, south-facing gully and are likely to be drier and warmer than most of the other mainly forested areas.
Getting There
Head west from the parking lot, cross the small bridge, and turn left up the Arthur's Rock trail. A short walk up the gully and the Parking Lot Wall will be on your right. Five lines and variations from V0 to V5 exist here. The Voodoo Lady Boulder can be found a little further up the gully but is best accessed by hiking up the switchbacks until above the boulder. Hike a little past the boulder and walk back down the gully to the boulder.
