Description
Garfield Woods is a nice area of Conservation land in Berlin, MA which encompasses the Forty Caves area. Several smaller boulderfields litter the woods, with a lot of problems that seem to be under the V3 grade. Right near the Berlin Boulder, there are numerous quality problems here as well as others with potential after some cleaning. There will be more info coming once I get out there with the camera.
Getting There
Follow the directions to Berlin Boulder. Once on Lancaster St., go to the next pullout by the small sign which says "Garfied Woods Conservation Area." There are boulders on both the Red and Yellow trails as well as in the Forty Caves area. A trail map can be found at the trailhead, across the railroad tracks.
