Crags on Eldorado Mountain, such as Mickey Mouse wall and Cryptic Crags, are outside of park boundaries and may still be subject to Boulder County closures.
Previously in 2023: per M. McHugh, ECSP: the upper loop of the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail, above the Crags Hotel Ruin, & the
Continental Divide Overlook, is closed effective immediately. This included Continental Crag.
These areas are closed to all activities, including rock climbing & hiking, through 7/15 or until further notice, to protect nesting golden eagles on the S side of the canyon.
Golden Eagles are protected by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service under authority of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. A conviction of nest disturbance can carry a fine to $5,000 & one year imprisonment.
See the map in the photo section for terrain closure.
Previous years: per Dustin Bergman, CO State Parks Officer #770, ECSP:
Seasonal Raptor Closures
Check Park site for current closures:

Double check prior to venturing there. Thanks!
Description
Getting There
Getting to the cliff band legally requires approaching from the northeast via trails starting at the South Mesa Trailhead, since all of the dirt roads in Eldorado Springs are private and heavily marked as such for transit to the state park or for pool access only during pool season.
The historical but illegal approach:
DO NOT USE THIS APPROACH by crossing private property! - it requested from Eldorado Artesian Springs that we clarify the trespassing nature of this: DO NOT walk northwest around the pool, and go left up the road where it splits. DO NOT take a left at the second driveway, and go straight up until you see the start of the trail on your right, just before you walk into the last house at the top of the hill. DO NOT follow the trail 50 yards up to where it splits at a large tree and go right. DO NOT go another 20 yards under another large tree, and you will be at the base of the hill. There is a trail that leads switchbacks up the saddle, if you follow it all the way to the cliff band, you will be at the Center Ring Wall. To locate the Warm-up Blocks and the Low Traverse Wall, there is a trail halfway up the saddle trail that splits right.
Be courteous of the residents of Eldo, and think before you park or hike on someone else's property.
DO NOT access this by crossing private property!
