Description

This one is great. As soon as you see it you have to pull on. Appetizer is named what it is since it is downhill and within sight of the Title Fight boulder, sort of an appetizer for the main course to come, although this boulder could be a focus just in itself.

Appetizer has a few easier lines; however "Hungry Hippo" is pretty tricky!

This boulder has a tall, sharp arête with a terrible landing "death Block" below, a fun featured face to its left, and a dicey thin face to the right with a likewise terrible landing. The bad landing lines could go with adequate protection I believe.

Getting There

Walk up trail past the first bridge and past the first wooden bench. Stay on the left side trail. After the wooden bench, watch for a close, dense stand of rhodos on the left and head into the woods when you see an opening. If you reach the second wooden bench you’ve gone just past the place to walk off trail by a few yards. This is past the Shadow Cast boulder by about 2 minutes.
