Description

Easy access and consistent icefalls, mostly single-pitch. A good variety of long vertical ice (up to 4+), easy short stuff for beginners, and intricate mixed stuff.

Getting There

In winter, the Klausenpass road can be quite snowy and difficult to travel. Driving directly to the Urnerboden Gasthaus parking lot is possible, but even easier to take the train or drive to the town of Linthal, then use the private bus service to get up to Urnerboden. 9am is the first bus, 3:30 or 4:30 last bus down to Linthal. The guesthouse appartently also has reasonable rates for room and board.
