Description

An easy-access sport climbing crag for Zurich-area climbers. This band of rock was exposed while blasting the hillside for the road which runs underneath it, in a semi-enclosed tunnel. Over 50 routes from 5b to 8c, plenty in the 6a-6c range. Limestone, no longer sharp but not too greasy, at least.

Full sun facing directly south: definitely a spring and fall (or even winter) climbing area, avoid on a sunny day! Or not, and then take a freezing dip in the beautiful Wallensee lake down below (30 min walk or 5 min drive).

Getting There

Easiest access is by driving up from the town of Weesen and parking in a small nook after passing through the 2nd tunnel. Walk back and climb up a ladder conveniently arranged there to get on top of the tunnel.
