Description Suggest change

This is a smaller crag near Hurd Creek Crag, with about 7 sport routes and 3+ trad/TR routes. It is very secluded, mostly west-facing with some shade from trees. It has gneiss rock. There is good bolting with snap links on top anchors (see comments on Hurd Creek Crag page). In addition, Matt Clouse added 5 additional trad lines in a comment below.

For details, buy Jim Shaw's modest guidebook "Fraser Valley Climbs" at Icebox Mountain Sports in Fraser.

Getting There Suggest change

Location: latitude 40.02944, longitude -105.78130 .

See the Hurd Creek Crag page, and follow directions to mile 4.4, then:

Mile 4.4 - turn left on FR 128 for 2.2 miles. Pass two right turns in the last half mile.

Mile 6.6 - after the second right turn, park at the bottom of the hill.

Hike - walk another 25 yards up FR 128 (uphill heading north). Look for a cairn on the right side of the road (I am not sure it will be there, but it's a good clue if you find one). Turn right off the road, and walk uphill about 50 yards to the crag.

[Alternate route: as for the Alt. Route described on the Hurd Creek page, at mile 1.3 go left towards Meadow Creek Reservoir. Follow this road (FR 129) for about 5 miles, then turn right on FR 128. Go about a mile to the bottom of a hill where the road starts to ascend. This is the mile 6.6 point above. This route is further but better road than the standard route above, so it may not take any longer especially if you don't have a vehicle with good ground clearance.] (If anyone has more precise mileage, please add a comment.)
