DescriptionThis is the first area encountered on the approach. Here you will find Pillar of Nobility with "Old School Vibe" (V5 R****) and several other problems from V0-V5. Pillar of Truth is just beyond with "Blue" (V6***). Walk out onto the plateau and after a short distance and Pillar of Hope will be on the right. A few easy problems exist here. Golden Nugget will be the last named boulder before coming upon The Stone Garden Area. Five easy problems exist on Golden Nugget.
Day use area Details
This is a Wilderness Area and open for day use only - no camping is allowed.
Getting ThereFrom Queen Mountain parking lot, follow the old road to it's end at the base of the mountain. Here two cairns mark the trail along the base, through The Wastelands and up hill to The Crique of the Climbables. Continue past The Cirque to a plateau. Head left (west) here on a trail marked with carins for about 300 yards to The Watchtower. From here continue NW along a path marked with carins. This will bring you up over the ridge to where Walt's Rocks come into view. Carins mark the way as the trail winds down into the basin and eventually across to below Upper Walt's Rocks. This point is to the right of Lower Walt's Rocks. A third class gully rises above, also marked by carins. Ascend this to a plateau below the upper rocks, head left (NW) and The Three Towers area will be reached after a couple hundred yards.
Approaching ths area, one comes upon a shallow ravine. This is bypassed by heading right and circling the Pillar of Nobility
and passing Pillar of Truth.
