Access Issue: Private Land Details

Description

East facing cliff bands of beautiful granite, with many large boulders in a substantial scree field.

This area is currently under development and will be fleshed out with much more detail once land access is worked out.

It's prime though, and full of sick boulders.

Note- This place used to be a mountain, then quarrying from the late 19th century on blasted it apart. Half the mountain still stands providing the cliff bands and vertical sections, and there's lots of large blocks laying around. In the late 2000s the quarry that this is part of was bought and re-opened. These cliffs haven't been blasted yet, but across the road the quarry is churning away. Hard to say how long this place will remain untouched. There's great potential for climbing, but something needs to be worked out with the landowners.

Getting There

Park off the road, follow the trails to the cliff.

Did you guys ever figure anything out about who owns the land/climbing access? Sep 30, 2011

The quarry across the street from the base of the cliffs owns the land now. We've never had any trouble being low key, but the guy who owns it may wind up blasting the cliffs again. He hasn't yet tho. Mar 22, 2012

I believe quarrying has resumed on the cliff face. I don't live in the area anymore so I've edited in the GPS co-ordinates. Anyone that wants to climb here have fun and go for it, tho check with the quarry owner before you do. There is tons of potential for development / adventure. Jul 25, 2017
