HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
Description
The massive slab and prow sitting above the California 5.12. Gets all day sun for most of the season. As of Fall 2023, USS Crag has 6 routes ranging from 5.7-5.10d all with quick-clip, lower-off anchors. It makes for a nice, chill day out typically away from crowds. The California 12a Crag is right next to it for some more routes up to 5.12 if you're wanting more. A 50m rope is sufficient for all the routes here.
Getting There
Approach as for California 12a, continue past it, and turn uphill at a large, aesthetic boulder. 15-20 minutes from the parking area.
