Description
Thanks to the hard work of several people, Bill's Buttress has seen a recent (2020) revival including new anchors and backup bolts that can be used to anchor while setting up the climbs. These volunteers also did a lot of route cleaning making this a very enjoyable area of the Butte to experience a variety of climbing styles with easier top rope setups including Mussey Hooks on several routes. The pitches here are long and a 60-70 meter rope is recommended. After setting up top ropes, you can use a 4th class scramble (climber left from bottom) to get to the base of the climbs. Be careful! This downclimb is often littered with broken glass and trash. Rappelling is also possible but demands skills beyond that of beginning climbers.
