The Pie Shop is a popular South Lake Tahoe area. It offers good climbing and good bouldering.
Good bouldering can be found scattered about near the start of the trailhead. Take care not to boulder too close to the houses.
To reach The Pie Shop from South Lake Tahoe, follow Hwy 50, west from the junction of 50 and 89 (known as the "Y"). A little past the airport, turn right on Sawmill Road, and continue for 1/4 mile. Park on the left side of the road. The trail starts in the boulders, right of two houses.

These are to the left of True Grip.Climb the right-hand crack, a bolt protects face moves to a chimney/offwidth. Follow this to a belay. Most folks rap from here, or there is an interesting down climb off the back side. The seldom done second pitch, goes up and right to a chimney. Climb this until it is possible to move left onto a face, which is followed to the top....[more] Browse More Classics in CA

Carville's guide calls this a "leisurely" approach. While not long or overly difficult, I think leisurely is a bit misleading.

I don't think that "leisurely" is misleading at all. It's a simple 10 minute approach. You should have done it before the trail was cut!
