Count Chossula's fluted south face


Just to the north of the parking area is Count Chossula. It's distinctly fluted south face is steep and striking. Route potential exists on the southwest and southeast faces. While the upper half of the formation is chossy and grainy, the lower half is characterized by a darker patina that will probably clean up nicely with repeated ascents.

Featured Route For Count Chossula
Rice Krispy Teeth, Count Chossula, in the Breakfast Crags.  This route will go at a solid 5.7 when it's clean.  Probably best for the 5.8 or 9 leader right now.

about 20 feet to the right of the obvious chimney. This route climbs a nice hand crack through the low, dark, patinaed section which gives way to steep but grainier climbing through the flutings up to a dike that brought about the formation of three molar-like "teeth."
