Stay out of my orthopedic surgeons long enough that i can take him out of my favorites on my cell phone which means - no more broken legs - no more knee surgeries I need to say I appreciate our relationship, i mess it up and you fix it, but we have to end this relationship cold turkey..... Is that too much to ask for a goal for 2013?

Find a decent job, leave Ohio, and move somewhere nearer to good climbing, either in the Southeast or the West. Everything else is going to be minor. It would also be nice to recover fully from my broken foot (I hear you, Chuck, surgery and recovery time sucks), climb more long routes and fewer sport projects, and see some new crags. Looking back on 2012, I did not go to one new place the entire year, which was my biggest disappointment.

Check out some new areas around Az. Climb more in Sedona. Get an FA on a sick-hard line. Spend more time with the wifey. Climb more at Cochise (including to the true summit of the Rockfellow Dome). Send 5.12 trad. Send a couple more 5.13 sport lines. Not get injured.

To finally get rid of this damn golfer's elbow that I've had for 14 months. If that happens, it would be awesome to climb Cap'm Pissgums and maybe make it up to the Black Canyon and/or Canyonlands at some point.

I took only one trip (long weekend) in 2012. Hoping for a few more than that in 2013, although with a baby coming in April I don't know if that will happen. If I do manage a few trips: -Flash/OS 5.12 -Take my first climbing trip to the Black Hills -Make it back to one of these areas: Joe's, SoIll, City of Rocks -Run at least 3 half-marathons and 1 full.

Get a better job so I can afford a car (I live in Brooklyn, NY). I really think not having my own car is the biggest thing holding back my climbing. I'd be out every weekend during the season if I had my own wheels. Meanwhile, I'd estimate not having a car reduces my days on rock by over 50%.

I grew up in Ohio and other than fishing I was always traveling to find something outdoors. Look in SLC. Been here five years and wish I had made the move long ago. Its got everything including jobs. But keep it quiet.

I'm not posting up my goals here. Instead I drew them up in a checklist form and put them on the wall in the kitchen. I'll see the list every day, on my way to get a beer, or bacon, or brownies, or candy.... maybe I make some dietary goals too.
