hi,
I am rather interested in climbing first ascents, and currently, in very tall pitches. Toward this goal, I have been putting up routes at Indian Creek, Utah. Very often, the routes at this area go up until they reach a loose block, or some feature that frightens the ascender.
I have been starting from the top, and using long ropes, cleaning the proposed route from the attachment point to the base. Of course, if I do not do this, I will have deadly rockfall from above.
I have also been building trails, and trying to otherwise lessen the impact of climbers upon the amazing area. I have never been a fan of the guidebook. I will be reporting routes to this forum as a way to reduce dependence on the paper book.
There are various types of climbers. Some are gracious and helpful, while others are whiny and combative. It is my goal to reward and praise the helpful ones, and to nudge the whiny ones toward the light.
cheers
