Description Suggest change

Talk about contrived...here is a traverse route I came up with for endurance training. Not for the faint of heart, but man, it gets your pump (and adrenaline) going! Also gives a good sense of accomplishment once you complete it.

Do not attempt the "loops" without prior free solo experience, and do not attempt when the rock is wet or dirty! Instead, you can safely traverse along the base of the island without getting too far off the ground (or just use a rope!)

The Loop-de-loop Traverse circumnavigates the Island three times...including two "loops", where you top out Sandy Ledges, part of Double O (go right, not left), and descend via the access route both times. Theoretically, you could even add a third loop which tops out via Ape Traverse.

The photos contain colored route lines for each of the loops: green for the first (via Sandy Ledges), yellow for the second (via Double O), and orange for the third (base traverse). The dashed red line is an optional section which completes the full circumnavigation. This part is most often wet/seeping; I have only found it dry at the end of November right before snow flies.

Location Suggest change

Southwest face of the Island. Starts near the wet spot marked by red lines in the photos, and goes counterclockwise around the Island.
