Description
Apache wolf is the right of the two twin bolt lines, with Victorio 5.8 being the left. These two routes share the first bolt, and the last pitch. These bolt lines get very close to one another on the first pitch so be mindful to stay on the correct bolt line. Both get their namesake from a legendary chief that lead a band of Apaches, never numbering more than 200 men, in multipule conflicts with the U.S. and Mexican militaries.
Pitch one: 5.10b 30 meters. Shares first bolt with Victorio but trends right up and over an electrifying 4 foot roof. Crux it out, then head directly up a strenuous face with a few crack moves. Climb past the belay of Victorio another 20 feet to a higher belay for Apache wolf.
Pitch 2: 5.10c 35 meters. Head up face to a crack. Continue up this crack till it thins and disappears. There's a couple of hard moves that connect up to Victorio for the last 5 bolts.
Pitch 3: 5.7 (Last pitch of victorio) Rappel route with one 70.
Long raps, bring a 70.
20+ draws are recommended.
