Description Suggest change

Start on moderate terrain through a bulge culminating with long pulls to good holds. Traverse rightward to the crux of the route, and find a rest before entering its violent, tenuous, and low percentage sequence off small compression side pull crimps and limited food smears. Fight through a slightly easier sequence to the route’s redpoint crux requiring perplexing position and specific hold sequences. Jugs will lead you to the victory ledge.

Some say that the beginning of Rome’s end came at the start of Caligula’s rule. Fitting for Caligula to grin upon Romulus, his neighbor to the right. The beginning is the end is the beginning…

There are few surviving sources about the reign of Caligula, although he is described as a noble and moderate emperor during the first six months of his rule. After this, the sources focus upon his cruelty, sadism, extravagance, and sexual perversion, presenting him as an insane tyrant. While the reliability of these sources is questionable, it is known that during his brief reign, Caligula worked to increase the unconstrained personal power of the emperor, as opposed to countervailing powers within the principate.

“Tales told of battles won
Of things we've done
Caligula would grin

Beating tired bones
Tripping through remember when
Once invincible
Now the armor's wearing thin
Heavy shield down

Warrior
Strugglin'
To remain

Cry aloud, bold and proud
O' where I've been
But here I am
Where I end”

Location Suggest change

Right of the current open project (5.13a/b) and left of Romulus.

Landmark is first bolted line on the left side of the obvious mini cave/roof

Protection Suggest change

11 bolts to to SS quick-lower biners.

Note: For those who may work this route, the random bolt (second?) out right is a old bolt that needs to be removed. The bolt spins and the nut is stuck. The developer moved prior to it being able to be pulled and patched. it’s not needed, just an eye sore. A new bolt is already added and in a better spot. Anyone is welcome to remove it.
