Description Suggest change

Head up the southwest face towards a roof using a flake system on the right for gear. Plug some gear at the roof and escape it on the left side, into a nice dihedral. Continue up on easier terrain and finish on a ledge with a tree or scramble up to the top of the spire. The route, especially at the start, is kinda grungy and will improve with some cleaning.

Descend with a rappel from the tree up on the ledge, or maybe scramble across the top to the bolt anchors of one of the other routes on Fire Spire.

If this line has been climbed before, it's not been for decades - it could definitely use some gardening!

Location Suggest change

On the southwest side of Fire Spire (side away from the river) is a big pine tree a couple feet from the wall. To the right of this tree lie Window and Threading the Needle (look for the bolts up the wall). To the left of the tree is a roof system with the distinct left-facing dihedral above it on the left. Kindling is the line heading up towards the left end of the roof and through the dihedral.

Protection Suggest change

I think a single rack from fingers to 3" should be plenty.
