Description Suggest change

This is a true ‘mixed’ line that any Merino Mama would be proud of, dare I say a classic Colorado mixed line, you decide. Sheepcicle climbs the left side of and onto the proud, thin, freestanding pillar that forms from the jutting rock in the center of the upper ice wall. Climb the lower ice directly below the pillar (or the ramp to the left) to gain the first bolt. Get you “ram” on, and start cranking into the overhanging rock, clipping 3 fixed draws, and bust your way onto the pillar. Follow the (sometimes good) typically rotten ice to a (hopefully exposed) 2-bolt hook anchor. If the anchor is buried in ice, continue @40’ up and slightly left to the rebar marked ground anchor.  Don’t case the first fixed draw clip, a potential grounder on the ledge. This is an awesome line on sheep, I mean STEEP, stone…and don’t forget to clean the shit outta your boot soles, Ewe!

The SS 3/8”x 3” bolts/hangers and chain draws were installed 1/15/22.

Location Suggest change

It is the obvious bolt line left of the center freestanding pillar, on the upper ice wall.

Protection Suggest change

Draws and a few screws.

If you plan to climb the I-70 Sickle or on the tier above, you should definitely exercise common sense and not park anywhere close to the traffic lanes, block in fellow climbers' cars, or get stuck in that wee pullout to require assistance in extricating your vehicle(s). Such would likely bring unwanted attention from those with less insight into the reasons why we are drawn to ascend such bits of solid water or the like. If in doubt, continue on to your plan B for the day.

Do not park on any part of the paved highway shoulder! A sturdy metal shovel and chains could be handy tools to have.
