Mudslide

Approach: Park just East of Stony Creek at the driveway to the ranger station, walk East for a couple hundred meters until an obvious creek is on your left. Head North directly up the creek bed for 15-20 minutes until going gets too difficult, gain the steep hillside and work your way out of the creek bed and continue up higher paralleling it. Drop down back down into the creek where it makes sense (we got cliffed out and rapped a tree). 3 hours or so will get you to a split in the drainage with obvious rolling ice on the left. Climbing: There are about 7 steps of approach ice varying in difficulty and length from 3 to 10 meters, WI2 to WI3. We only pitched out the longest WI3 section due to questionable ice.
After about 1.5 hours of approach ice you'll see the WI4+ pillar above and to the left. Climb 20 meters of technical and thin ice, mellowing out at the top of the cliffband. Traverse left to a sheltered belay with two smaller trees as an anchor. Rap off the trees and reverse the approach.
