Free Bird

This well bolted multi-pitch Adventure offers a great opportunity to break away from the crowds. One hour approached is enough to get a wall all to yourself in Kalymnos.

P1  25m 5.10b. Stiff for the Island. From the belay area, climb up and traverse right on a ramp. Head up the face on a well bolted crimptastic ride with an interesting Crux.  With a little rope drag management it can be easily linked into to pitch 2.

P2    20m  5.10d. This pitch consists of fun gray face climbing on consistently technical moves.

P3    30m  5.12b or 5.10c A0.  This Crux pitch is steep, thin, technical and sustained. If you have the skills then go for it clean. If you want to keep the grade more consistent throughout the entire climb then utilize the bolts for a nice aid opportunity.

P4    20m  5.10b  The business pitch may be over but there's still this and one more of technical climbing before the grades really ease up. Follow the bolts as they trend right up the gray face.

P5    25m  5.10c  If you could pull off the moves on the 5.10 pictures lower on this route then you have this one in the bag. A couple more technical moves will bring you up on the more moderate terrain.

P6    35m  5.10a This last long pitch will bring you to the top of the wall and a spectacular View. The rock quality on this is slightly less than ideal yet still a quite pleasant way to top off a alpine experience.

The walk off for this climb involves following Karen's for a long horseshoe shaped descent downhill that will lead to the descent gully and spit you out at the beginning of the climb.
