Description

A fun route originally bolted by John Baker in 2011. The rock below the first bolt is a bit crumbly, but the rest of the route provides great movement on some interesting holds.

Location

This route is on the furthest Canine Tower, next to "Leaners Permit".

Protection

The first 15-20 feet of rock isn't great quality and is hard to protect- this can be avoided by either a very long stick clip to the first bolt, or by placing some small gear in the questionable rock.

Claire... my hazy memory of this route... I think Cres and I were down there to work Flat Top and spied this line. We had a drill so we did some work. Cres thought the bottom was pretty dirty, so he wanted to come back another day and clean it and then add a bolt or 2 at the bottom. And maybe a good anchor. But we never made it back. Sounds like it might still need some work to improve the route... yeah ? Your pix make it look pretty good. Feb 17, 2018
John- It could definitely use a bolt at the bottom, and maybe a little bit of route cleaning below the first bolt, but the rest of it is spectacular in my opinion. Might go back and clean it as I explore the Canines more. Thank you so much for giving me some info on this line. I had a blast. Feb 17, 2018
I'm sure someone would be stoked to find another bolt at the bottom! Feb 18, 2018
Who belayed you Claire? If you want to add a bolt I am pretty sure I or John can help you out.
Oh and it is next to an abandoned choss pile we called "Leaners Permit" not Learners. Feb 18, 2018
Eric- Whoops! Must've misread it. I think i'll keep the name Drivers License though haha. My friend James Willis from Phoenix belayed me. It probably does need another bolt. The more I think about it, it was probably more like 25-30 feet before the first bolt, not 15-20, like I said previously. Feb 19, 2018
