The cracked boulder has a few easy lines but it's a good landmark and a nice warm up on the way to bigger and better things. On the downhill side is Brake Check (V1) and Allamuchy Layback (V0) on the downhill arete/crack as seen in the beta picture.


Across the stream bed from teal trail on the left catch a view of the giant cracked boulder. Cross Stitch lies just below.

This rock was really interesting. The downhill side had several really fun climbs with great holds; I missed them at first until I climbed Cross Stitch below Jul 16, 2016

Allamuchy layback:V0: sit start use arête of crack straight up

PROJECT:sit start undermid of bulge and head to mid-crack at top. Short climb. V0 standing.

PROJECT:sit start on left of arête headed to face. Work the bulge to ledge. V0 standing.

TIT:V1: stand start left of bulge arête using holds by the little titty. Big move to ledge and traverse left and around angular block. Top out. Var:V0: skip traverse head straight up above ledge

Brake check:V1: stand start with under long and right rail slope. Head up right rail and top out right to far horn. VAR:V0: top out left or above of right rail. VAR:V0:use left flakes and tiny left facing corner system to top out left. Jul 24, 2017
