CLOSED: Forestry Closure Update - FULL WEST SIDE CLOSURE begins 12/11.
The west side of the park will be completely closed for forest health mitigation until further notice (~mid-2024, weather-dependent). The west trailhead parking lot will remain open for access to the south. Trails impacted by closure: Mountain Muhly Trail, Bearberry Trail, Homestead Trail, Silver Fox Trail, Ponderosa Trail, and the majority of Sisters Trail. 2023 ALD Forestry - a map of the Second Segment Closure (PDF) can be found through the link above.
The eastern side of the park and trailhead have reopened following completed forestry work in that area.
Description
Start on the far right side of the block and traverse left along some mean slopers/under cling moves. Once you reach the corner on the right side get ready for the biz!!!. Reach low and left onto a nice "Piano Rail" (crux) and pull hard up high into a sweet lay-back system. Exit on the arete and right most face. Cool line with falls as short as 2-3 feet. It's the ultimate power low ball!!
Location
From the "Child's Play boulder" walk NORTH/EAST while traversing the lower hill side until you reach this low ball traverse.
The (EAST SIDE) climbing of "The Work And Play Area" can also be reached by splitting off with the "Sisters Trail" and taking "The Hidden Fawn Trail" until you are down and to the EAST of the right most Sister. Before the trail meets with the "Dedisse Trail" head left or (North) into a flat wooded area. Walk about 50 yards and you will start to see "The Piano Boulder."
