Description

A must do in Rocktown, The Scoop has to be one of the coolest problems in the Town. Start on the right side of the carved out rock and balance your way out left. Once in the center work your way straight up and over the top to some sick slopers and a small mono pocket. If you work all the way out left to the arete, it becomes a V2.

Location

Once in the Back Street Boulders area you can't really miss the problem. It's the boulder that literally looks like somone took an ice cream scoop and carved a dugout in the rock.

If the conditions aren't good, this can feel impossible for shorter folk. With good temps, you stick to it like velcro Dec 6, 2015

Crazy ass scoop! Mar 1, 2013
Get a running start, push off the bottom of the scoop and once you get your right hand in the sloper, hug the nose and it's made. Oct 6, 2010

really unusual, and super fun. Both versions are great, either going straight up the middle or using the left arete Feb 17, 2009
