Fences indicating no climbing? Details
Note, sadly there are now fences indicating people are not allowed onto Babyhorn, maybe with the exception of the East Face route
DescriptionAn alternative with excellent friction on mostly small holds for the kids on this flatironette is this NE face. It lies just R of the obvious E face (4th class) route. Other mention of this route suggested a 5.3 rating. However, on repeating this little face, 5.6 seems more appropriate.
Find this little face somewhat blocked by pine branches. Smear up on high-friction slab with holds that get bigger higher up. Moving R towards the branches may reduce the technical difficulty but add to the logistical challenge to climb past pine branches. Find a single bolt on top.
Best done as a TR though it could be high-balled.
To descend, down climb the E face (4th class).
