I stay 30 minutes NW of El Paso. My job is weekends only and weather dependent, so I have a ton of time. I’ve been climbing for 15 years. I’ve done just about everything, including ice. Since I arrived, my boss mentioned interest in Checkerboard Wall near Doña Ana Mountain. He’s all about work and married life and getting fat and I’m not waiting around for him, so I need someone else. I’m all about whipping on bolts up to 5.12, but I’ll max out leading 5.9 trad. I used to be younger; stronger; bolder. What mostly stokes me up is BASE jumping what I can climb.
