Red Tag routes

Isn't a red tag at the start, also a possibility for a not yet FINISHED route? Just cuz there's some bolts to get off the deck, may it still be in progress?

Personally, I like that the actual mountain high points have "first known" or "first recorded", but that has little to do with developed climbing 

And yeah, from that other thread?

Developer matters more by far, at COR, anyway, to me.

Wandering off the path some here, but.....how does this work for ice climbing?? I was thinking about this with the huge amount of water pouring off the Columbia river gorge recently. Can there be a year with high high water, then deep deep cold, that freezes up NEW waterfalls???

Yes, if a route is tagged it could definitely mean there is more work to be done on the development side.

That's high praise coming from you. Everything I've learned about snarky jabbing comments I've learned from you over the years. 

I've seen Old Lady H post here over the last few years.

Her question I thought was quite valid.

She seems sincere and worthy of respect.

As opposed to all you other cranky, cynical, bucket wearing mouth breathers and never was bastards who want to give me a six pack for the cam they got stuck in LCC.

One of the things that's great about being a less than mediocre climber is that I don't have to worry about whether or not I'm stealing someone's first ascent.  

If it's red tagged, it's too hard for me.

Short days, can't afford a gym pass thanks thanks to all the tariffs on the cams you all bought for Christmas, ice climbing is out of vogue or at least should be and no snow. Since none of you have crash pads you could always just go do the traverse at Pete's Rock in the afternoon with your car floor mat underneath you to fight the boredom.

Brain bucket isn't nearly as much fun as the other possibilities my non bucketed brain was picturing. :-)

I’ve got some tie-dye ribbon I’m going to tag some first bolts with…means: “in development but currently on a smoke break”.     Also means: “definitely easy to moderate”.    

I installed the last bolt yesterday evening. Hopefully I won’t find a piece of red string on it this morning.

That's disappointing. I thought you understood what he meant but were giving him hard time about using "helmet wearing" as a pejorative. 

Choose to wear a helmet or not; actively discouraging other people not to wear them is anti-social behavior at best.

I would argue that encouraging someone not to be safe is socially irresponsible behavior.

Coming on a thread and getting bent over two people in the same community who have been bantering for fun for years on this platform I would say is socially inept.

While mouth breathing is just unhealthy in the long run.

Next question.... Is white tape tied around the first hanger considered a "Red Tag" or is it best just to use the red twist tie from one's sandwich bag?

Maybe yours aren't big enough to require a bucket to carry 'em in??? 

Jussssst potentially a possible way to wear a bucket, if your mind is capable of, uh, wandering.

Or another nearby body part? Kinda overkill, for sure, me guesseth a mere codpiece could serve??
