Can't click on areas in Android app

I search for areas and they show up but I click on them and nothing happens, just see a flash of grey background on the item I clicked but it doesn't navigate to the page. Makes the app unusable 

Hi Jeffrey, if you haven't already, please check the Google Play Store in case there's an update. From there, if you haven't, make sure to log into your account in the app and download any state-level areas that you want to search in. Please follow up if those steps don't help.

Are you able to view that area by tapping Washington on the bottom of the homescreen, All Areas, etc.?

It's possible the app had an issue with the last data update.  Try removing Washington by tapping Manage Areas at the bottom of the homescreen, Edit, trash can, Done.  Then install it again.
