My family and I have a trip planned mid April to JT and I wanted to find out if anyone has any beta on any potential issues we might run in to as a result of the federal changes. I haven’t seen anything one closures but I heard lines at the gate are an issue with staffing/resources. Any info? Closed campsites?

The two past weekends everything seemed fine and maybe I was just lucky but wait times were minimal. They were even still constructing the new west entrance.
I heard terminated probationary employees that had lost their income and housing had gone feral in the park and were eating children and vulnerable visitors. I'd suggest keeping your kids on leashes. I think it was on Infowars or something.

A government shutdown is a reasonable possibility starting March 14. The last time there was a shutdown, jtree stayed open for several weeks before bad press shuttered the gates. I was there and it actually wasn’t so bad. Free camping, bring your own tp. There were a few bad actors, but for the most part the community was good about calling them out.

Maybe they’ll help make my very feral children seem better behaved.
Just came back from Hidden Valley campground. Nothing changed. Try to arrive early Sunday to get the best camp sites. As usual bring tons of water and ice.
