Hello everyone
My wife and I are not new to climbing , but definitely new to this forum !!

we have taken a few years off from climbing-and are now firing back up with our six-year-old daughter, we are planning on going to Moab mid March this year for our daughter’s spring break and to warm up from a Montana winter

any advice on where to set up a top rope on anything from 5.4–5.8 around the Moab are

We definitely don’t want to monopolize or hog up any routes while teaching our daughter,so a little further out-of-the-way and less crowded would be better, then super easy and right off the road

Thanks for any advice

The classic answer is wall street. There are a bunch of kind friendly routes that are slabtastic and either easy to lead or set up a TR. Downside: the highway is right next to the routes so it’s not a place to romp around. We’ve climbed those routes with our kids(11,8,5) for years.

Good times at Dakota is off the path, never crowded and cooler if it is hot.

You could also check out ice cream parlor l- there are a good amount of slab routes in that range- both a mix of bolted and trad lines. It’s off the road but the approach is short and belay areas are nice.

You could look into take out beach as well. There are a handful of 5.6-5.9ish climbs in the left side(can’t remember what subarea). All bolted, you’re well above the highway, and the approach is pretty short.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
