Does anyone know how to rig two micro traxions for TRS? I can’t seem to find any info on MP.

Have you seen this? https://m.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/Installation-on-one-single-rope-with-two-ascenders?ActivityName=Multi-Pitch-Climbing

Click back and next and read all of the TRS stuff petzl has published before you go TRS.

I think Michael is making a joke about the guy who is shamelessly posting the same photo of his setup on a bunch of dead threads.

How about two Spocs? Is this YGD?

I’ve heard some alarming things about spoc durability; specifically the spring breaking if I remember correctly. There was a thread here a bit ago about exactly that.

Two different people; two different failure modes. I’d be wary of the spoc.

Thanks Ross, it was sarcasm.

Funny thing is I actually do use a spoc/micro combo, so maybe my sarcastic post brought some good. I will check out those threads, thanks for the info Weasel.

Weasel, re: the first, I believe the trax is also susceptible. Either way I'll be using a carabiner with anti-crossload features.

Interesting considerations here. I wonder if the first failure mode is possible on the traxes as well. Certainly not possible on a basic or ascension. The second failure mode seems possible on all springed ascenders and the only difference would be if they failed open or closed.

Upon further research the side plate bending open seems to be more a function of improper carabiner use/crossloading, with perhaps the spoc being slightly more susceptible to this. I’ve just played around with my microtrax and was able to replicate with some difficulty; comes down to using a gridlock/clepsydra style carabiner or other anti crossloading system.

Another DIY workaround (from Yann Camus) was to simply wrap electrical tape around the gate until it is no longer able to pass through the trax/spoc.

Low tech.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
