TRS Setup

Does anyone know how to rig two micro traxions for TRS? I can’t seem to find any info on MP. |

Lots of threads on the topic: https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/118767921/top-rope-soloing-questions?page=3 |

I think Michael is making a joke about the guy who is shamelessly posting the same photo of his setup on a bunch of dead threads. |

Two different people; two different failure modes. I’d be wary of the spoc. |

Thanks Ross, it was sarcasm. Funny thing is I actually do use a spoc/micro combo, so maybe my sarcastic post brought some good. I will check out those threads, thanks for the info Weasel. |

Weasel, re: the first, I believe the trax is also susceptible. Either way I'll be using a carabiner with anti-crossload features. |

The second failure mode seems possible on all springed ascenders and the only difference would be if they failed open or closed. |

I’ve just played around with my microtrax and was able to replicate with some difficulty; comes down to using a gridlock/clepsydra style carabiner or other anti crossloading system. |

Another DIY workaround (from Yann Camus) was to simply wrap electrical tape around the gate until it is no longer able to pass through the trax/spoc. Low tech. |
